Please take your time to read through the following Terms of Conditions of Phillip Island Swim School to ensure that every participant receives the maximum benefit from the programs and services we offer.
General conditions
All participants must abide by general terms and conditions of the Swim School Program. Management reserves the right to refuse entry, suspend or cancel a membership without refund, or request any person to leave the premises if that person does not behave in a responsible manner, uses abusive language, is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol or does not adhere to the general conditions of entry. Every effort will be made to adhere to the timetable but Phillip Island Swim School reserves the right to change and alter classes as necessary.
Payment of Fees
Fees can be paid by credit card, bank transfer and cash to Phillip Island Swim School. Please note: EACH TERMS ENROLMENT FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL PRIOR TO CLASSES STARTING. If you don’t pay up front then unfortunately you don’t swim. A $40 admin fee will be charged and added to your invoice if payment is not received by due date.
Missed Lessons and Cancellations
If you decide to cancel your swimming enrolment we require a 2 week cancellation notification. Eg, if there is 4 weeks left of term you will be refunded for 2 weeks.
Make up classes are only possible for medical reasons when a medical certificate is provided. Students will have 2 months from the time they missed the class to make it up with another class. Make up classes are not guaranteed but offered as a courtesy if space is available.
Refunds may be granted for medical reasons or exceptional circumstances when three or more consecutive classes are missed.
Refunds or credits will only be given in extreme circumstances i.e. prolonged illness or injury. Medical certificate required.
Covid Lockdowns, Restrictions & Fees
When you MUST stay at home:
- You must stay at home and must not attend the Venue if you:
- a. are required to self-isolate or quarantine (and the event falls within the isolation/quarantine period) due to:
- i. being a confirmed case of COVID-19; or
- ii. having close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19; or
- iii. living in or having been in a high risk area within Australia; or
- iv. having returned from overseas.
- b. have COVID-19 symptoms, have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting test results (and the event falls within the period of awaiting test results). The symptoms of COVID-19 include: fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose or loss of sense of smell.
- a. are required to self-isolate or quarantine (and the event falls within the isolation/quarantine period) due to:
Certificates and Progress
The rate at which each student progresses will be assessed on an individual basis and assessment is an ongoing process in all lessons. Certificates will be issued by the Swim Instructor upon completion of each level. Students will progress through the levels of the program as they attain the skills and confidence.
Supervision
Parents are not permitted to leave children under the age of 14 unaccompanied at any time while they are in the Centre, including during a Learn to Swim class. Children must be accompanied by a guardian 16 years or over at all times.
Health Issues
Appropriate clean and suitable swimming attire is required for entry to the pool. We request that children up to the age of 24 months wear bather with elastic waist and leg bands or ‘aqua nappies’ over a disposable nappy. Cloth nappies are not allowed.
